A Brief Background on East European Missions Network
East European Missions Network (EEMN) was founded in the fall of 1992 as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit inter-Lutheran agency in response to the unprecedented opportunities for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union after the collapse of Communism.
The mission of EEMN is to Assist Lutheran Christians in Eastern Europe in rebuilding the Church of Jesus Christ in their own countries. It seeks to inform Christians in the U.S. and encourage and mobilize people to enter long or short term missionary service during this time of historic opportunity. The highest priority is to train a new generation of Christ-centered, Scripture-based leaders committed to the fulfillment of the Great Commission. The Director and members of the Board of Trustees of EEMN are committed to the teaching of the Word of God and the proclamation of eternal salvation by grace through faith through the substitutionary death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is their belief that the Bible is God's revealed Word and is the final authority in all matters of faith and life. It is not the intent of EEMN to "export" American culture but rather to proclaim the Word of God and Jesus Christ and Him crucified to people who can then apply the implications of their faith to their own culture in a way appropriate for them and in keeping with the Word of God. EEMN rejoices when people come to living faith in Jesus Christ and again when they are incorporated into the Body of Christ in their community. EEMN seeks to encourage and strengthen local believers in their commitment to the Great Commission and Christ-centered, Scripture-based ministry exercised in a context of the Love of Jesus Christ.
